The Natural Hair Movement
Everywhere you go you can see new curl products being made, new shampoos that strengthen your hair and new hairstyles that don’t damage your hair. The problem is there are still people who don’t believe that their natural curls are beautiful .Even though natural hair is coming back it’s still not accepted in the African American community. Females of color still wear wigs, weaves extensions and now and then still get relaxers. The longer and straighter your hair is the more beautiful you are. This has been taking a toll on females especially females of a young age.
When you last heard from us we investigated Colorism and found that, this was a bigger problem than we thought. Follow us on our second part of our journey of discovery we’re dealing with another problem in the African American Community. Stand Up for Your Natural Curls is our second project about loving your hair in whatever stage it’s in. We interviewed females and males of color and asked them how they really feel about natural, relaxed and weaved hair. These are our stories |
