For the longest I remember getting relaxers because I just didn't want to deal with my natural hair. What I didn't take into consideration was the damage I was doing to my curls. As time went on I was tired of sitting in the shop chair and getting relaxers, that was the first day I went natural. I cut all my hair off and let it grow out, from their I started my journey to loving my natural curls. It was hard at first, I had to get used to my hair being tightly curled and fluffy, and not bone straight. After many different hairstyles and hair colors, I finally found a curly style I liked. I still blow out and flat iron my hair because my natural fro is still smaller than I want it to be but I know longer have chemicals in my hair. At times I struggle with my hair and wish I could go back to getting relaxers but I always remind myself that in the long wrong it was just a bad thing for me.
This post is for girls going through the same things I did. It's hard dealing with your natural hair and sometimes you get tired of it, I know it's not the length you want or the texture you want but it's worth the time and effort. Your hair will grow just give it the love it deserves.
